BIOGRAPHY - Phil Kidd B. 1988
Being an Air Force Brat and a Third Culture Kid, Phil cannot claim to be from anywhere exactly but from a little bit of everywhere. Moving every few years his interests changed quickly but his love of drawing and painting never changed. His focus in painting is Trompe l’oeil and is inspired by the idea of creating order from piles of colored goop. Phil followed his passion for art and was the top graduate for the School of Liberal Arts receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Auburn University and is continuing his pursuits in art at Ani Art Academy Waichulis.
2004 - Awarded First Place in the “Annual Air Education and Training Command’s Artist/Craftsman and Photography Contest’’ in the Nature/Scenic category in photography
2006 - Finalist in the 26th annual Best of College Photography Contest
2007 - Selected as 1 of 30 from 100,000 works of art for the Advance Placement Studio Art Exhibit – 30 works of art traveled the United Sates for one year participating in multiple museum exhibitions
2008 and 2009 - Designed the Easters Seals Alabama Christmas Ornaments for the city
2009 - Awarded the “Emily B. Gassenheimer Memorial Purchase Award” for oil painting in the 38th Montgomery Art Guild Museum Exhibition
2009 - Awarded the “Dawn Kuykendall Memorial Award” and “Best in Oil Painting Award” in the 43rd Annual Montgomery Art Guild Regions Bank Exhibition
2009 - Awarded as a “Merit Award” winner in the Student Art Association Juried Exhibition, Auburn University.
2010 - Awarded a “Merit Award” in the Tenth Nightingale Biennial Exhibition
2011 - Received multiple awards in the 39th Montgomery Art Guild Museum Exhibition
